Case Spotlights
These results started as low offers. Here is what changed them.
$500,000 → $6 Million
Beating a statutory cap
The driver who ran the red light was working for a non-profit. Under Texas law that caps ordinary negligence recovery at $500,000, and $500,000 was the only offer on the table. We proved the driver was on a cell phone and smoking at the moment of impact, defeated the defense summary judgment motion, and took the case to mediation three and a half years after filing.
$6 Million, no lawsuit
Resolved before filing suit
An 18-wheeler rear-ended our client in Bexar County, causing a lumbar fracture that required surgery. He could not work for eight months and needed hired care for the first four. The case was built and resolved pre-litigation, which put the money in the client’s hands years earlier than a filed case would have.
$600,000 → $2.85 Million
Liability and damages, both contested
The defense disputed fault and disputed the injuries. The opening offer was $600,000. We established liability and documented what a shoulder surgery and a nine-month recovery actually cost a person who could not return to an active life for two years.
